The Business Agency Burgenland GmbH has a variety of tasks such as growth promoter, initiator, networker, investor, and supporter. The aim is to sustainably promote the economic location Burgenland in Austria. On one hand, we take economic and political measures through subsidies, participations and active company settlements. On the other hand, we offer companies an extensive package of support programmes, our own financing companies and numerous advantageous services.
Our employees build on many years of experience and are reliable partners on a national and international level.
Another focus of the Burgenland Business Agency is the development of the regions and rural areas. Municipalities, associations like Nature Parks and non-profit organisations are advised and supported in the strategic and operational implementation of national and international projects.
More than 100 people currently work for the Business Agency Burgenland, including experts of project managers, marketing, innovation, controlling, rural renewal, culture and mobility. The six nature parks of Burgenland are managed and coordinated by the ARGE Naturparke Burgenland since end of 2001, which is also a responsibility of the Business Agency since its inception. The aim is to establish the nature parks through joint projects and marketing activities. One of the main tasks in the nature parks is the conservation and development of the natural and cultural heritage in this regions.
The Business Agency Burgenland is also the managing authority of the programme Interreg AT-HU and is responsible for the changing of the policy instrument as well as the elaboration of the programmes in the future.
As we are a province-owned service agency, we are also responsible for the development and managing of pilot projects.

Wirtschaftsagentur Burgenland is acting as a Dynamo partner, contributing its experiences and results from previous projects to the consortium The team works on innovative ideas in the three drivers of sustainable Agri-food systems and ecosystem management, sustainable multimodal mobility, and nature-based and cultural tourism.
