Empowering rural communities to act for change

RURACTIVE Forum

The RURACTIVE project aims to contribute to tangible change in rural areas. To support this ambition, the RURACTIVE Forum provides a European platform for networking, knowledge exchange and dialogue on rural innovation and development, bringing together stakeholders, experts, project partners and policymakers. The Forum was developed following the approach outlined in the RURACTIVE Forum Concept Note.

Building on knowledge and experience generated through RURACTIVE, the Forum connects the project’s evidence and rural perspectives with wider European policy and practice. It provides opportunities to exchange experiences, explore common challenges and responses, and strengthen links with relevant initiatives, projects and policy processes.

The Forum also supports RURACTIVE’s policy work through dialogue, co-creation and validation of policy recommendations and guidance. Discussions address the six RURACTIVE Rural Development Drivers (RDDs), alongside cross-cutting considerations relevant to sustainable, inclusive and resilient rural development and the post-2027 EU policy framework. Participants include policymakers and public authorities, researchers, civil society organisations, rural practitioners, EU-funded projects, businesses and other stakeholders with an interest in rural development. The breadth of stakeholder engagement is illustrated below.
