RURACTIVE Local Action Plans Officially Launched Across Europe
Over the course of August, September and October, the twelve RURACTIVE Dynamos successfully launched their Local Action Plans (LAPs) through a series of events held across Europe. These gatherings brought together over 250 people and marked an important milestone in the RURACTIVE project’s mission to foster inclusive, smart and resilient rural communities.
During these events, each Dynamo presented their LAP to the community, outlining the tailored strategies and solutions being developed for and with local actors. The Local Task Forces played a key role in supporting the organisation of these events, while the Local Community Trainers contributed to facilitating dialogue and engagement in most locations.
The launch of the LAPs provided a valuable opportunity for community members to gain deeper insights into the innovative solutions co-created through RURACTIVE and to share their perspectives on the future of their regions.
Highlights from Across Europe
Each RURACTIVE location added its unique flavour to the launch events, reflecting the project’s strong emphasis on local culture and collaboration. The following are just some of the activities that took place across the twelve Dynamos:
- Zadar, Croatia: An interactive session invited participants to share island stories related to cultural and natural heritage, deepening community connections and collective memory.
- Zagori, Greece: A theatrical play titled “Common Language”, presented in collaboration with the Municipal Regional Theatre of Ioannina and a Senior Citizens' Group, blended art and dialogue to explore shared values and narratives.
- Südburgenland, Austria: The Dynamo joined forces with the ATTRACTISS project to deliver an “Interactive Innovation” training, introducing practical co-creation tools such as Brainwriting 6-3-5, the Idea Napkin, and role-based exercises that inspired creative problem-solving among participants.
Strengthening Local Collaboration
Across all locations, the LAP launch events demonstrated the power of community-driven innovation and collaborative planning. By engaging citizens, local organisations and policymakers, the RURACTIVE Dynamos continue to build strong local ecosystems capable of driving sustainable transformation in rural areas.
