The RURACTIVE project underscores the importance of empowering rural communities in shaping a just and sustainable transition in Europe. By addressing six RURACTIVE Rural Development Drivers (RDDs)— Sustainable multimodal mobility; Energy transition and climate neutrality; Sustainable agrifood systems and ecosystem management; Nature-based and cultural tourism; Culture and cultural innovation; Local services, health and wellbeing — the project aligns with the evolving priorities of the European Union (EU) under the 2024–2029 Commission. This analysis is the third in the series of EU policy analysis produced by project partner AEIDL, highlighting possibilities for rural actors to influence these domains. The document also identifies key EU policies relevant to these domains, emphasising opportunities for alignment and impact.
